--- Biological Institute - Brazil has very strong examples of biological control.

Brazil has very strong examples of biological control.

Sustainable technology

The Sustainable Technology is now a demand for all sectors of human knowledge and the modern world. For pest control in agriculture is no different. We need socially just, environmentally sound and economically viable technologies.

Among these instruments that enable this set of attributes is the integrated pest known as MIP. The MIP is based on the evaluation of a particular insect population in a given area. But the main component of the MIP is biological control, which is the preservation of natural enemies and biocontrol agents that are found in nature. Biological control is nothing more than nature controlling nature. We examples, as in the case of sugarcane in which about 3 million hectares are treated with the fungus to control leafhopper in sugarcane.

Another successful example is the case of Baculovirus anticarsia virus that was used for the control of velvetbean caterpillar, reaching an area of 2 million ha. Likewise, on sugarcane we have the use of wasp called Cotesia to control a caterpillar reached an area of over 3 million ha.

Other pests also deserved attention of the Biological Institute, as Neodusmeta sangwani, the leafhopper of pasture and sharpshooters of sugarcane controlled by the fungus M. anisopliae.

Brazil has very strong examples of biological control. The advantage of biological control is the protection of biodiversity, low cost of these products and also the security that they present to human and vertebrates in general. This is a sector that has a constantly growing, and increasingly the public demand for sustainable food.

The Biological Institute is an organ linked to the Department of Agriculture of the State of São Paulo and has contributed since its creation, this area of knowledge. Energy Pavilion addresses the "collective power of the community" in the Museum Gardens. --- Energy Pavilion aborda a "energia coletiva da comunidade" no Museum Gardens

Recently, the Museum Gardens became the home of Triumph Pavilion held annually and this edition focused on the theme "Energy". In this context, the "Energy Pavilion" designed by Five Line Projects, took a multidisciplinary approach to the issue, dealing with the social, the movement and the power of community. The pavilion consists of a place of playful encounter, designed to explore the impact that has a single positive action in your surroundings.

The ArchTriumph organizes an annual open competition, offering an alternative to the expression of architecture. The event for innovative projects, experimental and engajadores that have the power to benefit society.

The Pavilion of Five Line Projects consists of a stainless steel rods that support forest pinwheel stacked propellers. By rotating a propeller, the visitor puts in motion the adjacent helices, creating a ripple effect throughout the "forest". It is a metaphor for the "collective power of the community" as an action can trigger a series of reactions.

The project focuses on user engagement, and the forest becomes a place where inclusion and accessibility reign supreme.

The pavilion, whose engineering project was in charge of Arup, has 64 m² and is fully self-supporting. Its structure is predominantly bamboo, a sustainable choice but employing stainless steel rods, wooden panels glued laminated wood and aluminum coatings.

The ten-acre botanical Museum Gardens, around the Yorkshire Museum, stretch from the River Ouse up to the back of York Art Galley, and from Marygate on one side to Museum Street on the other.

Established in the 1830s by the Yorkshire Philosophical Society, These gardens are famous for Their fantastic collection of trees, shrubs, perennials and bulbs.

Set in the stunning surroundings of the medieval ruins of St. Mary's Abbey, this is a great space to meet friends and family and enjoy the peace and tranquility que the gardens have to offer.

The Gardens has Also recently incorporated its first Geocache Gardens and a full trail of Geocaches is expected to be Introduced in the near future.

Energy Pavilion aborda a "energia coletiva da comunidade" no Museum Gardens
