Bacamarte is a firearm, of short and wide barrel, also known as granadeira, reiuna, reuna or riuna, mainly, in the Brazilian Northeast. The granadillas or bacamartes that served in the War of Paraguay, in 1865, were modified so that the arms adapted to the use of the bicamarteiros in the celebrations of the interior of Pernambuco. Since the end of the 19th century, groups of flamingoes exhibit during the June festivals.

In general, folguedo is made up of men and in some battles the presence of women bearing brigands, who are shot with loads of dry powder, in honor of the patron saints or in civic and political ceremonies.

The way the gurnards group together is rather primitive. There are no formalities or regulations. It is only necessary to have a blunderbuss, obey the sergeant and know how to handle the weapon. The 8-string accordion, the triangle, the tanned leather zabumba and the fife band accompany the giants to the sound of a tune of xaxado, which is accelerated in the parades or slow in the evolutions, in the presentation of the arms, in front of the Churches And before the beginning of the salvos. The garment consists of zuarte clothing (blue cotton), neckerchief, leather hat, espadrilles and tundish cartridges.

The gulls from the swamps, wear wide-brimmed hats, broken in the front, adorned with wild flowers. They also put flowers in the barrels of arms.
