Pour être à la hauteur de l’événement qu’est son exposition au musée du Louvre, la « Tentation d’Eve » a fait l’objet récemment d’une restauration, réalisée avec des fonds collectés notamment grâce à un financement participatif. 30.000 euros environ ont été nécessaire à cette restauration qui a commencé par une séance photo : le but était d’évaluer les altérations et, pour les spécialistes, d’étudier les traces d’outils et la mise en œuvre du linteau au sein du portail. Une micro-abrasion « un gommage en quelque sorte) puis un nettoyage minutieux lui ont redonné son éclat.
