Since 2005, the Institute of National Historical and Artistic Heritage (Iphan) has developed a program that promotes and supports safeguard actions developed by society. The initiative carried out in the calls for proposals of the National Program of Intangible Heritage (PNPI) has completed a decade of activity and has contributed to disseminate and give visibility to the policy of safeguarding intangible cultural heritage. In order to make public and encourage other actions in favor of Cultural Heritage, the Department of Intangible Heritage (DPI-Iphan) gathered in two-volume publications the winning initiatives of the contest, including, among others, actions that fostered the transmission of knowledge; The constitution of collections; Conducting research; The institutional strengthening of public and private institutions for the management of assets.
The launch of the book, which is part of the Institute's 80th anniversary celebrations, will take place on April 12, during the 3rd Brazilian Meeting of Historic Tourism Cities and World Heritage, in Brasilia (DF).
The purpose of the publication is to provide access and disseminate exemplary practices, stimulating society to perform similar ones. Through agreements, a total of approximately R $ 7 million reais were invested in a period of one decade, which included 75 unpublished projects.
According to the president of Iphan, Kátia Bogéa, the PNPI's publications have contributed over the years to improve the management practices adopted by the Institute and its partner institutions. "At a local or regional level, these institutions become producers of knowledge and multiplying practices suitable for the preservation of intangible assets, especially as regards the incentive and the direct execution of patrimonial management by the owning communities," he says.
The projects can be presented by public or private non-profit institutions, always with the participation and prior informed consent of the communities involved and the institutions that represent them. They should focus on community safeguard activities and institutions, and create networks between the different institutional and social actors.
The director of the Department of Intangible Heritage (DPI-Iphan), Hermano Queiroz, emphasizes that the initiative has spread the diversity of intangible cultural heritage of the country and the dissemination of methodologies and technical knowledge, specifically those associated with inventories and cultural mapping.
This year, the edict will select ethnographic and artistic photographic series on the intangible assets recognized as Cultural Patrimony of Brazil, which portray the Cultural assets registered, their holders and the context of cultural practices. The Prize, which is named Mario de Andrade's Photography of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Brazil, will be released in the first half of 2017.

PUBLICAÇÃO APRESENTA 10 ANOS DE PROGRAMA QUE INCENTIVA A SAVALGUARDA DO PATRIMÔNIO CULTURAL.
Desde 2005, o Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico Nacional (Iphan) desenvolve um Programa que fomenta e apoia ações de salvaguarda desenvolvidas pela sociedade. A iniciativa concretizada nos editais do Programa Nacional do Patrimônio Imaterial (PNPI) completou uma década de atuação e tem contribuído para difundir e dar visibilidade à política de salvaguarda do patrimônio cultural imaterial. Por sua relevância, o Programa entrou no ano de 2011 na Lista da UNESCO de Melhores Práticas de Salvaguarda.
Para tornar pública e incentivar outras ações em prol do Patrimônio Cultural, o Departamento de Patrimônio Imaterial (DPI-Iphan) reuniu em publicação de dois volumes as iniciativas vencedoras do concurso, apresentando, dentre outras, ações que fomentaram a transmissão de saberes; a constituição de acervos; a realização de pesquisas; o fortalecimento institucional de instituições públicas e privadas para a gestão do patrimônio.
O lançamento do livro, que integra a programação celebrativa dos 80 anos do Instituto, ocorrerá no dia 12 de abril, durante o 3º Encontro Brasileiro das Cidades Históricas Turísticas e Patrimônio Mundial, em Brasília (DF).
O objetivo da publicação é disponibilizar o acesso e difundir as práticas exemplares, estimulando a sociedade para a realização de outras semelhantes. Através de convênios, foram investidos no período de uma década aproximadamente R$ 7 milhões de reais, que contemplou 75 projetos inéditos.
Segundo a presidente do Iphan, Kátia Bogéa, os Editais do PNPI têm contribuído ao longo dos anos para aprimorar as práticas de gestão adotadas pelo Instituto e por instituições parceiras. “Em nível local ou regional, estas instituições tornam-se produtoras de conhecimento e multiplicadoras de práticas adequadas à preservação do patrimônio imaterial, sobretudo no que tange ao incentivo e à execução direta da gestão patrimonial pelas próprias comunidades detentoras”, afirma.
Os projetos podem ser apresentados por instituições públicas ou privadas sem fins lucrativos, sempre com a participação e consentimento prévio e informado das comunidades envolvidas e das instituições que as representam. Devem visar as atividades e as instituições de salvaguarda comunitárias, e criar redes entre os diferentes protagonistas institucionais e sociais.
O diretor do Departamento de Patrimônio Imaterial (DPI-Iphan), Hermano Queiroz, destaca que a iniciativa tem difundido a diversidade do patrimônio cultural imaterial do país e para a divulgação demetodologias e conhecimentos técnicos, especificamente àqueles associados a inventários e mapeamentos culturais.
Neste ano, o edital irá selecionar séries fotográficas de cunho etnográfico e artístico sobre os bens imateriais reconhecidos como Patrimônio Cultural do Brasil, que retratem os bens culturais Registrados, seus detentores e o contexto de realização das práticas culturais. O Prêmio, que tem o nome de Mario de Andrade de Fotografia do Patrimônio Cultural Imaterial do Brasil, será lançado no primeiro semestre de 2017.
