Embroidery became Intangible Heritage of Alagoas, Brazil, in March 2014.

Tradition of the Pontal da Barra, embroidered Filé is part of the life of the artisans of the neighborhood.

Picture 1 Bairro do Pontal da Barra is a reference of handicrafts, in the embroidery line, such as Filé, lace and labyrinth (Photo: Assessoria)

Is it on the banks of the Mundaú Lagoon that hundreds of women in the neighborhood Pontal da Barra weave colors, shapes and why not lives? Skilled hands, often accustomed to working from an early age, carry in themselves more than movements imbedded in the memory. They are hands that tell stories. They are stories that have as a plot Filé, embroidery that, point by point, draws and writes the life of each artisan.

Filé is passed down as an inheritance among the majority of residents of the historic neighborhood of Pontal. Hand and hand products, which attract the attention of those who pass through the streets, help supplement the income of most artisans. For Dona Tânia, born and raised in the neighborhood, Filé has been part of her life since her first steps.

"In my family embroidery is passed down for generations, I learned from my mother and grandmother and passed on to all my children. It is a culture that is part of my life, "says the artisan.

For the tradition to continue we must fight for ideals. This is the case of artisan Lígia Mirin, currently president of the Association of Artisans of Pontal da Barra. "Being at the head of the Association is rewarding, but it's also tiring. It's hard work. I, along with so many other artisans, strive to keep this tradition alive in our State. We try to make different products so that we can improve the flow and the time of the tourist here in Alagoas ", says Lígia.

According to the Association's president, the craftsmanship generates a good number of indirect jobs. "We decided to create the Association to fight together for the same ideal, which is the improvement of life, work and infrastructure. Only here in Pontal a thousand women embroider Filé and we also bought the production of other associations, thus generating 15 thousand indirect jobs ".

Among its colors and lines, Filé, which stands out where it is present, still needs, like all the culture that surrounds it, to be more valued by the Alagoan. "We need to know what we have, what we produce and, above all, we value ourselves more", finishes Lígia.

Intangible Assets

By unanimous decision of the State Council of Culture, embroidery Filé became Intangible Heritage of Alagoas in March 2014.

According to the Secretary of State for Culture, Mellina Freitas, there are still no actions that encourage the development of intangible goods in the State, but stresses the importance of a constant debate on public policies geared to culture and bring, according to her, A positive return in the sense of resignifying and fomenting culture in Alagoas ".

"Today, Filé is a territorial icon, a visual identity of our land, that allows a feedback of meanings. Registration is important, but the appreciation of the population is even more so. The Government of Alagoas works to spread, develop and value the culture of Alagoas ", stressed the owner of the portfolio.

Pontal da Barra

Pontal da Barra, a neighborhood in the South Zone of Maceió, is located on the banks of the lush Mundaú Lagoon. The neighborhood is a reference for handicrafts, in the embroidery line, such as Filé, lace and labyrinth, and also stands out in the gastronomy, with restaurants and bars that serve seafood and the lagoon.

History of the Museum of the City of Skopje. - Museu de História da Cidade de Skopje.

The idea to establish a city museum of Skopje appeared in the 1930s, first as a department of the City Municipality in the composition of the so-called. Museum of Southern Serbia in Skopje

After 1945, in Skopje as the capital of the People's Republic of Macedonia, the conditions for establishing a city museum, which will collect, protect and study the cultural heritage of the city and its surroundings, are matured. In 1949, the City National Board of Skopje (GNO) founded the National Museum of the City of Skopje. The founder was the Municipal Assembly of the city of Skopje, and the first director was appointed Blaga Aleksova (1949-1950).

Museum of the City of Skopje

The official opening of the Museum was planned for October 11, 1951, with the opening of a permanent exhibition on the occasion of ten years since the anti-fascist uprising in Macedonia.

The Council for People's Education and Culture of the Executive Board of the GNSO - Skopje, established a Commission of Experts with the aim of carrying out current expert tasks in the following composition:

- Dimce Koco, dean of the Faculty of Philosophy and Blaga Aleksova, assistant at the Archaeological Museum - Skopje, responsible for the subjects in the field of art history;

- Arch. Boris Chipan, Director of the Republic Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments - Skopje, responsible for the urban development of the city;

- Dusanka Vuckovic, director of the Archaeological Museum - Skopje, responsible for the archeological department;

- Tomo Tomoski, assistant of the Department of National History at the Faculty of Philosophy - Skopje, responsible for the historical department at the Museum;
- Lazar Lichenoski, artist, in charge of the artistic side of the Museum;

- Rada Polenakovic, curator at the Ethnological Museum - Skopje, responsible for the ethnology department.

At the same time, in 1949, a Board was formed at the City Museum - Skopje, composed of Petra Gotkova, assistant at the National Museum of the City of Skopje, Zagorka Dukovska, Head of the Department of Culture and Art at the GNO - Skopje and Aco Petrovski, President of the Film Art Council "Vardar Film" - Skopje. The board was obliged to prepare and realize the planned permanent exhibition display and to close the preparations for the opening of the Museum.

Over the next two decades, the museum was confronted with problems of obtaining an appropriate building that would fit the museum's needs. From 1949-1952, the Museum was housed in the premises of the then GOVERNMENT OF SCIENCE AND CULTURE at the GNO - Skopje.

From 1952-1956, the Museum was moved to a temporary administrative building which was located behind the Secondary Technical School, near the City Park, using two offices and two warehouses.

With this, the Museum was restored to its initial positions without its own building, which was one of the conditions for performing the museum activity as a whole. During this time, the collected museum material was housed in inadequate premises in various warehouses throughout the city. At the beginning of 1956, the Museum was on the first floor of the building of the former Turkish Telegraph.

Mail. In 1962, the Museum got the opportunity to expand and get the whole second floor of the building for which a project for adaptation of the space was made, in which four thematic exhibitions were later realized: "Skopje through art works", "Ambiance in a Turkish room "," Art Nerezi "and" XII National Liberation Brigade ".

- Димче Коцо, декан на Филозофскиот факултет и Блага Алексова, асистент при Археолошкиот музеј - Скопје, одговорни за тематиката од областа на историјата на уметноста;

- арх. Борис Чипан, директор на Републичкиот завод за заштита на спомениците на културата - Скопје, одговорен за урбанистичкиот развој на градот;

- Душанка Вучковиќ, директор на Археолошкиот музеј - Скопје, одговорна за археолошкото одделение;

- Томо Томоски, асистент на катедрата по национална историја при Филозофскиот факултет - Скопје, одговорен за историското одделение при Музејот;

- Лазар Личеноски, уметник, задолжен за уметничката страна на Музејот;
