Tereshchenko's Palace. Kiev - Дворец Терещенко. Киеве - Palácio de Tereshchenko. Kiev

In the early 40-ies of the XIX century in Kiev at the corner of the Alekseevskaya Street (now Tereshchenkovskaya) and Bibikovsky Boulevard (now Shevchenko Boulevard), the general from the cavalry Alferov built a two-story house resembling the letter "G". Nearby (down the boulevard) widow Stepanov's physician in 1862-1863 also built a two-story house. In 1871, Pavel Demidov, Prince of San Donato, was elected head of Kiev city head, who bought both houses, one of which occupied the city council's services.

After a slight adjustment, the houses were joined only by completion of the second floor. In 1875 the house was bought by the sugar-industrialist and philanthropist Nikolai Artemyevich Tereshchenko (1819-1903), who had six children: Varvara, Ivan, Alexander, Maria, Olga, Euphrosyne.

According to the project of architect Peter Fedorov and with the participation of the architect Ronald M. Tustanovsky. Tereshchenko rebuilt the building. The house has turned into a magnificent palace, designed in the style of the Italian Renaissance. Instead of going to the courtyard, there was a grand entrance hall with luxurious three-march stairs of white granite and four columns of dark green granite, supporting the ceiling between the first and second flights. The lobby is decorated with white and gray marble, mirrors, bronze floor lamps and a chandelier, and a plafond over the staircase is painted with picturesque panels based on ancient Russian epic stories. The author of them was the famous artist Wilhelm Kotarbinsky, who took part in the paintings of the Vladimir Cathedral in Kiev.

The house became a beautiful palace, in which there were 47 rooms with 40 fireplaces and stoves. The second floor became the suite of ceremonial rooms, the walls of which were painted with alfraic ornaments or covered with the same cloth, which is covered with furniture. The stoves and fireplaces were decorated with appropriate murals, and the ceilings - rich stucco molding or paintings. Parquet floor with skillfully laid out precious woods completed the refinement of the palace.

In the spacious halls of the estate Nikolay Tereshchenko placed an art collection, which included paintings by I. Aivazovsky, I. Shishkin, I. Repin, V. Vereshchagin. After the revolution of 1917 the Tereshchenko family emigrated abroad, the building was expropriated and in 1924 it was transferred to the All-Ukrainian Photo-Cinema Administration (VUFKU). Since 1930, there was a film institute here.

After the war, when the question arose about the location of the museum T. Shevchenko, this particular architectural monument was chosen. Not the least role was played by the location of the house near the monument of T. Shevchenko and Kiev University, which even then bore the name of the great Kobzar. With the assistance of the Deputy Chairman of the then Government of Ukraine, the poet Nikolai Bazhana, as well as Pavel Tychyna and other figures of Ukrainian culture, in 1947 the building was transferred to the State Literary and Art Museum of T. Shevchenko. It was here, in the building where Taras Shevchenko could visit, April 24, 1949 the State Museum of Taras Shevchenko was opened.

After the scientific restoration of 1985-1989. The buildings are returned to their original appearance with all the inherent architectural features.

Palácio de Tereshchenko. Kiev

I. Aivazovsky, I. Shishkin, I. Repin, V. Vereshchagin.

Registration of the accent as Intangible Heritage brought pride to the piracicabanos, PIRACICABA, SÃO PAULO, BRAZIL, says Cecílio Elias Netto. - Registro do sotaque como Patrimônio Imaterial trouxe orgulho aos piracicabanos, PIRACICABA, SÃO PAULO, BRASIL, afirma Cecílio Elias Netto.

For journalist and historian, local language is part of the identity of the people.

On August 25, 2016, the dialect and the accent of Piracicaba, a city that celebrated 250 years in that month, were registered by the Council of Defense of the Cultural Heritage of Piracicaba (Codepac), as historical, cultural and immaterial patrimony of the municipality.

A year later, the historian and journalist Cecílio Elias Netto considers that the recognition brought pride to the local people.

"This record as intangible heritage was fundamental, because the people now take pride in their accent and being a country man. After all, it's our identity and people recognize and understand it, "he says.

Cecílio is the author of the book "The dictionary of the caipiracicabano dialect - arc, tarco and verva", whose first edition was launched almost 30 years ago and brings together more than 200 pages with historical data and curiosities about the local vocabulary.

"Our language, our accent, is something that has always caught my eye. I always find it interesting, because it is such a differentiated thing. The staff spoke 'caipira' and I was proud to be a country man. And Piracicaba is the land of the caipiras, "he says.

Cecílio is impressed by the fact that, despite the diffusion of the means of communication and the transformations through which culture passes, Piracicaba maintains his language and still influences those who come from other cities.

"The interesting thing is that when an outsider comes here, she assimilates our accent. Besides, I've noticed that the people here have been proud of themselves, of our history. That's our identity, we should be proud to have that accent. "

Legislation and cultural heritage

The student of the law course of the Methodist University of Piracicaba (Unimep), Davi Rosário, is producing a study on legislation and its relation with cultural and historical patrimony. Among the issues addressed is the piracicabano accent.

"I have a relationship of proximity to the environment and I consider it fundamental to address environmental preservation. And the cultural patrimony is inserted in this question. By working on the importance of this preservation, we help maintain and strengthen it, "he says.

The student also considers it important to register the accent as intangible heritage. "It is part of the identity of Piracicaba and therefore, even if there was no such recognition, it would not end. But the registry strengthens and helps to make people aware of its importance, "says Rosario.

Education, communication and memory

With the aim of spreading the importance of intangible cultural heritage, a city group that includes teachers, cultural producers and environmentalists is developing the project "Educommunication and memory - cultural heritage in the media", through workshops with adolescents and young people in Public spaces such as the Prudente de Moraes Museum, Centro Cultural Zazá and Estação da Paulista.

With the use of communication tools, participants learn issues related to memory and equity. "The idea is to provoke and rescue local culture in communities, as well as to awaken a sense of belonging in these young people who will be great achievers in the future, seeking a fairer society in all its aspects," says environmentalist and photographer Bruno Fernandes, a Of the project organizers.

Among the themes studied is the piracicabano accent which, according to Fernandes, is related to the appreciation of the local culture. "Strengthening the piracicabana culture is knowing our origins, and with all certainty the piracicabano accent brings elements that can translate all this process", completes.
